C*STAR is a spin-off company of the University of Cape Town with the expressed mission to commercialize bespoke process developments in the field of Power-to-Liquids (PtL). The PtL process envelope encompasses the conversion of captured carbon dioxide (CO2) and green H2 into sustainable hydrocarbon fuels such as petrol, diesel and kerosene.
Prof Michael Claeys

Michael Claeys has over 30 years of experience in developing novel catalytic materials and processes for the conversion of synthesis gas. Through his close collaborations with international industrial partners.
Prof Nico Fischer
Director
Nico Fischer has worked both in academia and the private sector on the development of novel heterogeneous catalysts and catalytic processes. His work, focuses on increasing the sustainability of chemical conversions with a special focus on CO2 activations.
